In addition to showcasing the design of our Autonomous Robotic Pickup Platform at the Detroit Month of Design Festival, the Orange Sparkle Ball team will host an in-depth panel discussion highlighting the importance of city government and community partnerships in successful technology piloting.

Orange Sparkle Ball will showcase the design of our Autonomous Robotic Pickup Platform at the Detroit Month of Design Festival. Beyond showcasing the technology, we'll explore the open innovation frameworks and human-centered design methodologies driving its creation.

Drinks x Design offers an opportunity for creative businesses throughout the city to open their doors and share their work with the public. Attendees come to meet new people, make connections, promote their creative endeavors and learn about other projects in their community. The final Drinks x Design of the 2024 season will feature Detroit-based organizations and individuals moving the needle in the Equitable Mobility space.

OSB team members Meaghan Kennedy and Michaela Bonnett, joined by Teri Garstka, will present a talk at the 2024 Sunbelt Conference focused on a model for Technology-Enabled Community Resilience (TECResilience), based on their work across diverse networks, communities and ecosystems.

OSB team members Jasmine Fernandez, Michaela Bonnett, and Meaghan Kennedy, joined by Teri Garstka, will be presenting a talk at the 2024 Sunbelt Conference focused on a study identifying the structures within a population of 40 social care networks (e.g., health, social services, education, concrete support, housing, etc) actively operating in communities across states.

OSB Innovation Strategist Michaela Bonnett will be presenting a talk at the 2024 Sunbelt Conference focused on social network analysis of the Detroit mobility ecosystem; methods, findings, and strategic interventions for network growth.

Teri Garstka will be presenting alongside OSB team members Jasmine Fernandez, Michaela Bonnett, and Meaghan Kennedy at the 2024 Sunbelt Conference focused on the relationship between emergent network structures and community-level outcomes (e.g., physical health, socio-economic well-being, clinical care, environmental vitality). They will discuss findings from these analyses and implications for optimizing community-led care networks to help drive outcomes at the population level.

Orange Sparkle Ball will walk through their recent collaboration with Macon Black Tech, a non-profit focused on building inclusive resources for tech entrepreneurship and innovation. In this workshop hosted at the Middle Georgia Regional Library, OSB team members will walk through the process of performing a network analysis and demonstrate how they worked with local change-makers to map the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in Macon.

OSB Founder and Principal Strategist Meaghan Kennedy will be co-facilitating a worker voice event with Kim Faison, Vice President of Thriving Resilient Neighborhoods at Detroit Future City. Attendees will hear from peers and national practitioners, with ample time for discussion and co-creation of solutions with each other.

Members of the Orange Sparkle Ball team will be presenting “Precision Public Health: Empowering Communities with Hyperlocal Data for Targeted Interventions and Improved Outcomes,” a workshop focused building an actionable framework for collection and governance of community-owned data.

Members of the Orange Sparkle Ball team will be presenting “A Cross-Sectoral Approach to Innovation in Public Health,” a workshop focused on the use of Immersive Innovation Labs as a guided approach to innovation focused on multidisciplinary collaboration and the creation of actionable solutions. 

Commercial drone delivery in the news tends to be focused around companies delivering lunches and groceries but the benefits this technology offers is far more reaching than what many think. This session, featuring OSB’s Ashley Touchton, will break down how and why the aging in place population, people in rural/remote areas, suburban communities, and people in crisis, will gain the most from wide scale commercial drone adoption.

The GAME Change Summit will bring together experts, industry and community stakeholders in circular economy design, and technologies focused on building an innovation hub for sustainable manufacturing and resource recovery in Kentucky and Tennessee.
